Among thousands of yeshivah bachurim who began yeshivah at the start of the Elul zman were 112 young men who walked into their respective yeshivos on the first day of the zman with an extra bounce in their step and took their places on the bench thanks to the concerted efforts of Pele Yoetz Center’s Yeshiva Placement Department.
“Our activities are concentrated during the early summer months, and peak during the weeks prior to Rosh Chodesh Elul when registration takes place, but they really begin many months beforehand,” reveals Rabbi Yechezkel Feldman of the Yeshiva Placement department.
“Really, we’re busy all year round, since we closely monitor ‘our bachurim’ to ensure that they’re well-adjusted and happy in their respective yeshivos. Our job doesn’t end on Rosh Chodesh Elul or in the following days when, iy”H, all the bachurim are finally settled in yeshivos.” The Yeshiva Placement department has a policy of keeping apprised of the bachur’s adjustment and of the parents’ and faculty’s level of satisfaction throughout the year, albeit this mostly takes place quietly, behind the scenes, for the benefit of all parties.

It’s impossible to describe the anguish and heartache that Pele Yoetz spares parents and talmidim who, for any number of reasons, find themselves without a proper yeshivah framework for their son. In order to facilitate the process, it’s important to bear the following in mind:
1. As soon as a bachur finds himself without a suitable yeshivah, he should contact Pele Yoetz immediately.
2. Parents must model and teach their children flexibility and compromise, especially regarding yeshivos that complicate the absorption process.
“We aim for one hundred percent success!” declares a spokesperson for Pele Yoetz, “but practically, our abilities are still limited, given the limits that reality imposes on us. There is a dire lack of yeshivos today, and this directly impacts the bachurim. It’s time to recognize this excruciating issue and call for the founding of more and varied yeshivos in our sector, which will iy”H, serve hundreds of bachurim and bring relief and nachas to them and their parents.”
