A distinguished lineup of mechanchim along with Pele Yoetz Center’s directorate conducted a series of visits to the homes of gedolei Yisrael this past month. Joining the group from New York was R’ Eli Schindler who conceived and founded Al Pi Darko, a unique chinuch program operating within the framework of Pele Yoetz and guided by Hagaon Harav Dovid Levy shlit”a. Al Pi Darko is the product of Mr. Schindler’s vision of providing students in need of extra academic and emotional support with professionally-trained tutors who facilitate their learning and personal development in and out of the classroom and thus significantly reduce the dropout phenomenon.
Following the outstanding success of a pilot program implemented several years ago, Al Pi Darko currently operates in dozens of cheiders in Yerushalayim and is guided by esteemed professionals who adhere to principles al taharas hakodesh and with values rooted deep in our mesorah. This month, Hagaon Harav Dovid Levy shlit”a and R’ Eli Schindler led a delegation from Pele Yoetz Center to visit gedolei Yisrael shlit”a to request their brachos and present critical questions in chinuch that arise in the course of running the multifaceted project. It should be noted that, baruch Hashem, Al Pi Darko has changed the lives of dozens of youths who were struggling academically, emotionally and/or socially, and kept them spiritually stable and firmly entrenched on the path of Torah and avodas Hashem.
The delegation met with the Dushinsky Rebbe shlit”a; Hagaon Harav Moshe Hillel Hirsch shlit”a; Hagaon Harav Dov Landau shlit”a; Roshei Yeshivas Slabodka shlit”a, and others. In the course of the respective meetings Harav Levy and Rabbi Schindler presented a list of crucial questions pertaining to contemporary chinuch. The issues and concerns was closely evaluated and resolved by the rabbanim and roshei yeshivos who responded with daas Torah and provided clear answers regarding how to further develop the program and improve the spiritual rescue efforts made by Al Pi Darko which strengthens struggling kids and keeps them profoundly connected to a life of Torah and yiras Shamayim, al taharas hakodesh.
In the course of the meetings, gedolei Yisrael shlit”a were effusive in their praises of Pele Yoetz Center and its directorate, and they bestowed their heartfelt brachos and encouragement to R’ Eli Schindler to continue sponsoring and advancing this project which is so crucial to ensuring the spiritual futures of our children.
