A Professional Base to Becoming a Professional Tutor

Pele Yoetz

Updated: Mar 7, 2021

Private tutoring is a relatively new profession in Israel’s Torah world. Only in the last few years has the chinuch system absorbed that there are boundless benefits to one-on-one learning and, even more so, to the personal relationship that develops between a young student and adult who has already graduated the tumultuous adolescent years into maturity and possesses a heart wide enough to absorb the child’s pain, doubts and fears.

Tutoring is thus a job that allows the tutor to reap profound personal satisfaction. It is likewise a golden opportunity to take part in saving the spiritual lives and futures of struggling youth and lead them back to the straight path of Torah and yiras Shamayim.

To be sure, there are times when the results of many hours of effort, time and money invested into learning privately with a young talmid remain unseen, and this is because the combination of life experience and a genuine desire to help are not always sufficient. In many cases, success can only be achieved when professional tools, pedagogic knowledge and understanding of a child’s emotional world are introduced into the formula—and often, the combination of all of the above are required to make the necessary change and beget success!

The above is in addition to professional guidance in identifying deeper problems that require special therapy, which in some cases actually saved the children’s lives and futures!

To help our tutors reach our common goal of success with our talmidim, Pele Yoetz will be opening a new course offering advanced professional knowledge in the field. The course is geared to tutors and will be led by our Nasi Hagaon Harav Dovid Levy, shlit”a.

To register for the course, please contact the Office.
