Klal Yisrael deeply mourns the loss of Maran Hagaon Harav Yitzchak Scheiner ztvk”l, Rosh Yeshivas Kamenitz and member of Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah. With the passing of the tzaddik, Pele Yoetz Center has also lost one of its great leaders and spiritual guides who escorted the organization and Center since its inception, navigating its Rabbanim and faculty and manifesting his deep love and dedication to Klal Yisrael’s youth.
Among Pele Yoetz’s many branches and departments, the Rosh Yeshivah ztvk”l felt a deep affinity and appreciation for Al Pi Darko, the groundbreaking chinuch project initiated by R’ Eli Schindler of New York. On many occasions, he urged philanthropists to donate generously to the project, expressing that “Al Pi Darko is generating a transformation in children and adolescents who are on the brink of spiritual disaster…It has slowly but methodically solved many, and sometimes all, of their problems, enabling them to start a fresh page in life.”

Al Pi Darko was launched several years ago in a handful of Yerushalayim chadarim, where it swiftly proved successful. The multistage project subsidizes the costs of a professional evaluation that identifies and isolates specific learning challenges among struggling students. Once a clear diagnosis is received, the program matches each student to a private tutor who is trained to help the child overcome his challenges and lead him back on track long before his minor problems can avalanche into major, long-term catastrophe and spiritual devastation.
Hagaon Harav Yitzchak Scheiner ztvk”l viewed Al Pi Darko, which operates under the auspices of Pele Yoetz’s Nasi Hagaon Harav Dovid Levy shlit”a as hatzalas nefashos and hatzalas hador—rescuing Klal Yisrael’s future generation. As he once inscribed, “They save tens of children from plummeting to the pit of despair and transform their spiritual and material futures, illuminating the hearts of their suffering parents who were mourning the future spiritual devastation of their sons.”
Dozens of talmidim, tutors and faculty members at Al Pi Darko bitterly mourn the passing of the Rosh Yeshivah and tzaddik who served as both a father figure and spiritual guide. Yet Pele Yoetz shall continue upholding his sacred legacy, fulfilling his counsel and expanding the project as an aliyah to his pure neshamah.
Yehi zichro baruch.
