The fifth cycle of Pele Yoetz’s Foundations of Therapy Course, which is being offered this summer once again at Pele Yoetz Center, is in full swing, and participants report gaining extensive knowledge and excellent counseling skills in a highly professional environment. The group registered for the present course includes a distinguished lineup of mechanchim, mashgichim and maggidei shiur who teach and mentor bachurim and young boys in some of the top yeshivos and chadarim in the country.
“One of the advantages of this particular course is that it’s constantly being updated and enhanced to meet the needs of the times, integrating all the innovations in the field. This empowers the learners with the latest knowledge and skills and allows us to become leaders in the field of chinuch and counseling,” explains one course participant.

The primary course syllabus is relayed by Rabbi Aviezri Cohen, a prominent cognitive-behavioral therapist with over 20 years of experience in the field. As a talented orator, Rabbi Cohen presents the content in a fascinating manner, enabling course participants to grasp numerous complex approaches while incorporating questions and answers from the audience.
Dovid, another course participant, shares: “Rabbi Cohen’s vast experience allows him to share real-life examples for every idea and concept that he presents, which facilitates our understanding and assimilation of the information and methods that he presents.”
The popular feedback received from the original Foundations of Therapy Course several years ago prompted Pele Yoetz to sponsor another four courses and also led to the development of new, advanced courses for alumni. As in previous courses, participants include mechanchim and those aspiring to enter the chinuch profession. The professional knowledge and array of tools gained in the course enables them to upgrade their methods and enhance their work with children and adolescents.
Pele Yoetz’s Foundations of Therapy presents an overview of the stages of emotional development, empowers the learner to identify cases that require professional intervention, and covers many complex issues, questions and challenge that occupy the charedi sector. All content relayed in the course is meticulously reviewed and approved by Hagaon Harav Dovid Levy shlit”a, Nasi of Pele Yoetz Center. One of the primary objectives in creating this course was to engage in issues that relate specifically to the charedi sector, in a way that does not conflict with the pure chinuch that is the hallmark of our society and precious mesorah.
As they near the end of the course, participants summarize that “This course has given us a new outlook on the world of therapy. It literally opens our eyes to all that’s going on inside the minds and hearts of our students and clients. Our whole approach changes for the better, becoming easier and more natural and fluid. We learn the material comprehensively, using the latest approaches, and baruch Hashem, we’re reaping success and saving neshamos.”
If you’re involved in chinuch and/or seeking to develop your counseling skills in your mission to save neshamos in Klal Yisrael, register now for the upcoming Foundations of Therapy course at Pele Yoetz Center!
