In the past years, the charedi sector in Eretz Yisrael has benefited from a boost of knowledge and skills in the fields of education and therapy, with a variety of courses and seminars offered in cities and towns with large charedi populations. These courses have succeeded in ingraining fundamental knowledge and awareness of these topics into the community.
The more pressing demand, however, is for qualified, trained educators and therapists within the community who are both aware and capable of dealing with its distinct challenges. While the number of professionally-trained therapists among the charedi community is low, the need is surging year by year.
Professionally-trained educators and therapists possess a high level of education and training, but are also aware that there is a whole world of knowledge and techniques that exists far beyond the books and classic methodology, and that there is often need to integrate the two for the patient’s sake. At Pele Yoetz, we call this a ‘Forward-Thinking Educator/Therapist.’ While the common therapist can present and explain the toolbox that enables the person to cope; a trained, forward-thinking therapist knows how to adapt the tools to the individual in order to lead him to achieve a complete solution to his problem.
The forward-thinking therapist knows a lot more than how to identify symptoms, reaching deep to subconscious issues. This not only diagnoses the external problem, but also identifies the source of these problems and sets about creating workable solutions, enabling the patient to improve the complete system of his life.
To increase the availability of forward-thinking therapists within the community, Pele Yoetz Center is now opening an Advanced Course for counselors and teachers. Attendants must be former course alumni, who have completed all previous courses successfully and are seeking to advance professionally in the field.

The rich and varied course content, which spans all methods of therapy prevalent among the charedi sector, derives largely from Pele Yoetz’s extensive work as a center offering educational guidance and consultation to the charedi sector on a national scale. The therapists benefit from a wealth of supplementary knowledge that trains them to clearly define the objectives of the treatment and achieve the desired results.
