Daily life encompasses a range of challenges, struggles and internal conflicts. Children and adolescents who are in the process of developing their unique sense of self, molding their sensitive characters, and are still unsure of their own identities and goals frequently find themselves facing colossal challenges, fears, crises and conflicts internally or vis-a-vis their parents, teachers or peers.

Not always do adolescents find an open, listening ear in their parents or teachers. In fact, more often than not, they are either uninterested or unable to share their hesitations, challenges and doubts for numerous reasons. These kids require sensitive, responsible adult figures in their lives who have experience coping with challenges such as theirs. They need role models who will listen compassionately without judging, offer sound advice without forcing it, and simply be there as they unload their burdens and distresses while radiating support, boosting morale and empowering then to make significant choices and take effective steps to overcome them challenges.

It is not only our adolescents or children who find themselves deeply frustrated as they confront daunting fears and challenges in life, but also adults—couples and parents who struggle with a variety of domestic and internal conflicts. When faced with major or minor challenges, or when standing at a crossroads in chinuch or family life, many spouses and parents also feel a need to share their thoughts, feelings and frustrations. They too seek an experienced hand, supportive shoulder and spiritual anchor to guide them through their choices and challenges and offer the professional emotional support that they so desperately crave.

How can we help?

Pele Yoetz’s Chinuch Call Center avails a free hotline service to families and individuals in distress. The hotline is operated by a professional faculty of veteran educators and counselors who accept a steady stream of calls from identified or anonymous callers who learn about our services through newspaper ads and via charedi media channels.

The Call Center is administrated by a faculty of distinguished Rabbanim, educational advisors and certified therapists who are briefed by the hotline operators regarding every individual case.  When necessary, we ramp up our number of responders, with some faculty members working out of their homes in order to provide quick and effective First Response and navigate callers to the right parties who will provide them with a comprehensive response and solution to their challenges.

Sometimes, a case is solved in the course of the initial call, yet other times, the situation compels a comprehensive evaluation, referral to psychologists, social workers or family therapists, or even psychiatric intervention. Even after Pele Yoetz arranges the referrals and hands the case over to field professionals, we continue monitoring the situation and keep in touch with the caller in order to ensure a happy or at least fulfilling ending.

Pele Yoetz Center is constantly endeavoring to expand our faculty, upgrade the professional and technological resources that we provide to our clients, and offer optimal solutions to the challenges faced by kids and adults in the charedi world.
