parental guidance courses

Many children and adolescents referred to Pele Yoetz suffer from attention disorders, albeit while some are aware of the diagnosis for years, others only discover it after undergoing a professional evaluation in the Center. Unfortunately, many parents are also anxious about subjecting their children to medication or are wary of the professional counseling that is a vital aspect affecting the success of the medical treatment.

There is a sore lack of platforms offering essential guidance to parents, and there is likewise insufficient awareness and resources preparing teachers to cope with these challenged children in the classroom. The unfortunate result is that many children go untreated, forfeiting vital learning skills and abilities, while in worse cases, their adversities impact their social and emotional health, as well.

It is not uncommon for parents to utterly lose their parental authority due to the complexity of dealing with a child with ADD, which compels a lengthy process of regaining and solidifying that authority.

How can we help?

Pele Yoetz offers children with ADD and their parents a comprehensive, professional solution to their ordeal by sponsoring professional evaluations and therapy, and simultaneously offering important tools and guidance to parents and teachers.

Pele Yoetz avails the widely-acclaimed MOXO computerized evaluations for a drastically reduced fee. Once the evaluation is complete, the parents receive a preliminary diagnosis that offers important information regarding identifying the problem and planning treatment and therapy.

When necessary, our team will refer a child to a family doctor and/or neurologist while offering consistent, professional guidance in dealing with the child in the family environment. Counseling is provided by Rabbi Avraham Vitman, our on-site certified educational advisor; and information concerning the child’s emotional development is relayed by Rabbi Naftali Vitman, certified art therapist and graduate of a coordinators’ course. Parental counseling is delivered separately to men and women by Rabbi Aharon Iram and his wife Mrs. Yehudis Iram, both certified parental guides.

The Department likewise hosts semi-annual seminars attended by hundreds of parents and educators in order to raise awareness of the vital element of parental authority in the home. Simultaneously, we emphasize proper treatment of children with ADD disorders.  Additional training courses on these topics are relayed by popular lecturers and world-acclaimed educators. The courses are open to parents and educational faculties and geared to help everyone cope with and effectively handle students who suffer from these challenges.
